Cape Town is the World Design Capital for 2014
Few accolades leave the recipients any richer but the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design's biennial World Design Capital award certainly does.
Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana, Cape Town Partnership MD and co-ordinator of the WDC2014 bid, said: "Being named World Design Capital for 2014 is a unique opportunity for us to reposition Cape Town on the world stage as a city of innovation, creativity and caring.
Cape Town mayor, Patricia de Lille says, "We will ... celebrate design as a driver of social and economic change in the urban environment."

Accommodation entries cover all SA's provinces and some neighbouring states. You'll find hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, lodges, country houses, self-catering apartments, villas and houses, and backing establishments. Some establishments offer online booking while you can contact others directly.
There are four ways to find accommodation:

- Use the Directory Search box in the right hand column. All establishments with "Look & Book" icons in the listings offer online booking.
- Search by maps for different regions, towns and suburbs.
- To find places with speciific criteria, like pet-friendly or near a beach, etc, use the Extended search.
- For establishments where you can make bookings online, go to our accommodation page and use the enquiry form for realtime availability and to make an online booking.
