Process & Time frames
- Competition opens for entries : June 2011
Entrants who wish to participate need to apply to enter using the online form. Succesful applicants will be provided with access details to complete their submission.
The submission does not need to be completed in one go. Preliminary content can be submitted and then added to and refined until October 2011, taking note of reviews and comments submitted by the public.
Ratiing and reviews and public comments for a particular destination can only start when their submission is online. It is in the entrant's best interest to load preliminary content as soon as possible and encourage locals and past visitors to start.
The support and participation by the public in the Reviews & Ratings, and constructive comments or suggestions, will be taken into consideration by the judges. Facebook "Likes" and "Shares" will not taken into consideration.
- Closing date for questions by entrants : July 29, 2011
If entrants have any questions about the process or their content, these can be posted in the forum where the answers to all questions will be shared (click here). We strongly recommend that all entrants subscribe to this board (click the Subscribe tab) so that they receive email notifications of all questions and answers, as well as any special announcements. (Entrants should also click the Notify tab of their Comments page to receive email notification of all comments posted. They will receive email notifications for all Ratings & Reviews.)
- End of first round/Judges begin selecting their shortlist : end October 2011
At the end of the first round, entrants will not be able to edit or add to their content to allow judges to review all submissions. The selection of the shortlist will be made based on online content.
- Announcement of shortlisted entries for the Awards : January 2012
After this announcement, shortlisted entries will have three weeks to revise and improve their submissions, and continue to encourage locals to rate & review or comment on their destinations and entries.
The support and participation by the public will be taken into consideration by the judges. Closing dates for reviews is March 18, 2012.
- Judges visit shortlisted entries : April 2012
Judges will visit all shortlisted entries, meeting the management and learning more about the entries at first hand. Not all judges will visit all entries.
