SA Destination Awards

Checklist for the Entry Form

Content provided in the entry form will be used by the judges to establish the shortlist of finalists.  Judges will be influenced by the results of public Rating & Reviews for the destinations, and public comments about the submissions.  Lively and constructive public participation is to the advantage of each entry.

Tips for completing the entry form

  • Start by getting a broad range of preliminary content online so the public can start reviewing your destination and commenting on your submission.  You don't have to complete all fields to start.  Start encouraging visitors to Review your destination - their reviews are about the destination, not your submission!
  • As you develop your content, aim to be succinct yet comprehensive.  Cut-and pasting internal documents into the text fields shows disregard for the judges - the first round is to prepare a shortlist.  If they need more detail, they will get it when they visit the finalists.
  • You can enlarge each individual text field in the entry form by dragging the bottom right hand corner. You may use HTML code in the text fields but may not link to external content.
  • After completing the entry form, if you feel you have documents that state your case more effectively, you can upload these in doc/docx and pdf formats.  There is no limit to the number of documents you may upload but the maximum size of each upload is 15Mb.
  • Lastly and most important - don't spend hours adding and refining content without saving your work.  A power outage will see you lose everything!

This checklist relates to the questions in the Cities, Towns and Regional Destinations' entry form.
