Few accolades leave the recipients any richer but the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design's biennial World Design Capital award certainly does.

Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana, Cape Town Partnership MD and co-ordinator of the WDC2014 bid, said: "Being named World Design Capital for 2014 is a unique opportunity for us to reposition Cape Town on the world stage as a city of innovation, creativity and caring.

Cape Town mayor, Patricia de Lille says, "We will ... celebrate design as a driver of social and economic change in the urban environment."

Accommodation entries cover all SA's provinces and some neighbouring states. You'll find hotels, guest houses, B&Bs, lodges, country houses, self-catering apartments, villas and houses, and backing establishments. Some establishments offer online booking while you can contact others directly.

There are four ways to find accommodation:

• Use the Directory Search box in the right hand column. All establishments with "Look & Book" icons in the listings offer online booking.
• Search by maps for different regions, towns and suburbs.
• To find places with speciific criteria, like pet-friendly or near a beach, etc, use the Extended search.
• For establishments where you can make bookings online, go to our accommodation page and use the enquiry form for realtime availability and to make an online booking.
