Walker Bay is a sanctuary for the Southern right whale. It feeds in Antarctica during the summer months and then migrate thousands of kilometres to the sheltered bays of South Africa to mate and calve.

De Kelders is a beautiful coastal village 5km north of Gansbaai and half an hours drive from Hermanus. Earmarked by spectacular cliffs, long white beaches and a variety of Fynbos, its name is derived from caves in the sandstone cliffs.
Memories is a stylish modern 8 - sleeper self catering beach house. The house looks over Walker Bay towards the mountains. Various decks offer outdoor living while large windows and sliding doors give great views form the living areas and kitchen. There are 4 bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has great sea views. Other facilities include a pool area with outside braai, two garages, TV lounge and inside braai.
Situated next to De Kelders is the Walker Bay Nature Reserve with a spectacular 17km coastline. The reserve has a beautiful long white beach known as "Die Plaat" which is ideal for day hikes along the coast, angling, swimming and picnicking.
Hiking Trails take you to places such as the Klipgat Cave, formed millions of years ago where excavations indicated the presence of Middle Stone Age people an estimated 80 000 years ago.
Shark cage diving, great local wines and cheeses at surrounding farms as well as mountain biking will round off a perfect holiday.
Enjoy fine food and coffee at Coffee on the Rocks, De Kelders. Visit the historic Gansbaai harbour for fresh fish or hop in at The Boathouse for delicious seafood. Surrounding wine farms such as Raka will introduce you to exceptional local wines to compliment your seafood or any other meal.
