Why is Cape Town so special?

A combat ride in the legendary Huey helicopter, with Lion's Head as the backdrop.
English Electric Lightning climbs to vertical above Kommetjie, with Long Beach and False Bay in the background. The only two airworthy Lightnings are both operated by Thunder City, along with Buccaneers and Hawker Hunters.
The songwriting genius of David Kramer and the late Taliep Petersen immortalised the city's District Six and its pathos. Subsequent musicals hit world stages and, while demonstrating "local is lekker", garnered awards.
Trust a politician to grab a true icon's limelight! The icon is Evita Bezuidenhout: sage and muse for all our country's leaders. If you don't catch her in town, take a drive to Darling. The lady on the right is Helen Zille – voted the best mayor in the world when she was Cape Town's mayor and now premier of the Western Cape.
No visit to Cape Town is complete without taking in Chapman's Peak Drive, cut into a rocky mountainside. But driving out of Gordon's Bay, Clarence Drive has been voted one of the best drives in the world!
The rugby & cricket stadia at Newlands are part of the lore of those sports. Legends have been created here.
Just over five years old, and Cape Town has overtaken New York as the most popular convention city for long haul conference goers worldwide. The CTICC's success is based on pure professionalism and its 'can do' attitude.

3 cheers to love and life in the Western Cape.
