Swellendam is the third oldest town in SA and offers characterful old buildings that tell of years past. Enjoy old fashioned Cape cuisine at the Old Gaol and take a walk around their gardens that tell of early South African life. Over the road from the Gaol is the award winning Drostdy Museum where histroy has been preserved.
Swellendam is aslo the largest producer of younberries in the world and have our own tasting and picking(Dec) farms where you can savour the liqueur's and chocolates made from these beauties.

* de Hoop Nature Reserve - 45 mins drive. Watch the whales frolicking in these waters in unspoilt natural beauty of the Cape coast. Experience the fynbos at its best!
* Witsand - 45 mins driv. Another beauty for whale watching - the whales have their babies in Witsand in Aud and move down the coast in the next few months.
