Experience contemporary chic and historic graciousness at the Cape heritage Hotel. Situated in the heart of Cape Town's ultra fashionable Heritage Square, this intimate boutique hotel offers direct access to the city's vibrant street life, arts and culture, business precinct, shopping, and top restaurants. Steeped in 18th century history you will find us in a shady courtyard underneath the oldest known fruit-bearing grapevine in South Africa.
STEEPED in history, beckoning the well-heeled traveller and conveniently located in the heart of the CBD, lies the notable Cape Heritage Hotel. Recently under new ownership, the hotel has just completed sensitive renovations that compliment the natural heritage of the building.
Says owner Victoria Nel "We were captivated by the property the moment we set foot inside. Thus our aim has always been to carefully upgrade the existing 15 rooms so that the decor is still in keeping with the history and heritage of the hotel, yet reflects the joie de vivre of South Africa and its dynamic culture. It is important that we portray an atmosphere of young meets old and Colonial meets African without the hotel losing its distinct character".
Decor and design:
Working with a top team ensured the renovations were completed within the planned six week timeframe. Magic Dog headed up the project, Sisanda were the appointed contractors, whilst Victoria Nel and Interior Architect, Lisa Bond from Painted Porcupine worked closely with Garland Interior Decorators to ensure that every room was creatively themed, thus enhancing its individual persona.
The outcome of unlimited creativity led to the creation of 17unique bedrooms ranging from a Lovers room with an extraordinary bathroom, a French Colonial room, the Colonial Suite, the African room, a neo-African room to the Eclectic and French Romance bedrooms. An additional two inter-leading suites are also currently under construction.
It's only as you slowly begin to absorb the ambience of the hotel that you start to appreciate how high- style meets deep comfort and modern chic meets the master-crafted, as rooms proudly display original high-beamed teak ceilings, yellow wood floors and carefully preserved bespoke details.
