Barrydale accommodation conveniently located on Route 62 with easy access to Tradouw Pass, Swellendam and the N2, a newly renovated restaurant on the premises. The lodge offers visitors a destination stop over before they continue on the next leg of their journey.Barrydale Karoo Lodge is situated on the popular Cape Route 62 and is a great overnight destination for weary travellers. From our lodge you are able to travel a short distance to drive along one of the most famous passes in South Africa, the Tradouw Pass is well known for its natural waterfalls in the winter season and its swimming pools in the summer. Ask us to pack a picnic and take in the majestic views along Tradouw Pass, you can even fill your water bottle with natural water from the mountains. This pass is the bridge that connects Barrydale to the historical village of Suurbraak, enroute to Swellendam and the N2 which leads to the coastal towns of Witsand, Stillbaai and Mosselbay.
The lodge offers guests a choice of eight (8) individually decorated en-suite rooms. The rooms are furnished with king-size or single beds, while the bathrooms have either showers or a bath with a shower overhead. For your sleeping comfort we provide pure cotton percale bedding and towels. Each room has free Wi-Fi, a free standing fan and coffee/tea making facilities. Two of the rooms are equipped for the physically challenged. This includes, ramp access to the building, room door wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair, enough space around furniture, facilities in arm's reach i.e. blind cords, light switch, coffee station, bathroom equipped with appropriate handles and bars and wall mounted shower seat. The lodge offers breakfast, a newly renovated restaurant, as well as a biltong shop which is located on the premises. Guests can relax in the communal guest lounge which is equipped with a large fireplace and has a TV. The lounge has a view of the court yard below where a splash pool is available for guests to make use of. Currently, only street parking is being offered.
Barrydale offers a variety of attractions such as the Magpie Art Collective, Barrydale Heritage Garden, the Sanbona Wildlife reserve, various restaurants, shops and wine cellars.
