Zulu Ranger Safaris offers walking safaris in the big 5 Amazulu Private Game Reserve in Zululand, South Africa. These 3 night safaris are suitable for a group of 2 to 8 people. Children from 12 years old will be allowed to walk, at the discretion of the leading trails guide.

Guests will be accommodated at Ibandla Camp on the banks of the scenic Mkuze River. Ibandla Camp consists of 2 stone and thatch chalets. Each chalet has 2 double bedrooms each with its own bathroom. This camp is unfenced and all types of animals may wander through the area, providing a true wilderness experience. Ibandla is also a working camp where students of Bhejane Nature Training are based in order to get their trails guide experience.  

Daily Activities include Your day will start with a cup of coffee before setting out on an early morning trail with your experienced, qualified trails guide. Remember this is a big 5 environment so you will encounter hippo, elephant, lion, rhino and buffalo on foot. The duration and pace of the walk will depend on the fitness of the group. There will be some vehicle activity moving from one trails spot to another.   Return to camp for a meal. Guests will rest in camp during the hottest time of the day and then another activity will take place in the late afternoon. This could be a walk or a drive depending upon the requirements of the group. Besides the exciting encounters on foot you will come away learning a lot about tracks and signs, basic survival skills and techniques like making a fire and finding direction in the bush.   

All meals are served on the verandah overlooking the river. Food consists of tasty South African farmhouse cuisine with a lot of the food cooked on an open fire. Meals and drinks are all inclusive in the cost
