Sunbird Lodge self catering accommodation located in a quite, leafy suburb on the Constantiaberg Mountain Range overlooking the back slope of Table Mountain and the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, close to Constantia Nek and equidistant from Hout Bay and Constantia, a stones throw away from the major attractions of the Cape Peninsula.
Our self catering apartments are set in a quiet suburban setting, surrounded by rugged, forested mountains. The garden is tiered with green grass on the topmost level, as you walk out of your self-catering accommodation. The area lends to outside dining both early morning and late evening. On the lower level is our pool.
Tiered established garden with outdoor furniture & braai or barbecue facilities close to the apartment entrance & on the lower level the pool with tables and chairs & loungers for enjoying the Cape summer, protected from the prevailing wind ie. Southeaster. Great for passing away quiet, relaxing times, when not frantically trying to visit all the major tourist attractions.
Sundowners can be enjoyed in both areas on warmer evenings.

Location & Distances to Attractions
Sunbird Lodge is located in a quite suburb close to Constantia Nek and is equidistant from the shopping centers and numerous restaurants in Hout Bay and Constantia. Our closest supermarket is approximately a kilometre away and there are 2 restaurants at the center. They are Massimo's an Italian restaurant and Quentin at Oakhurst offering fine dining & carveries on Sundays. The world acclaimed La Colombe Fuses contemporary cuisine with French flair using local ingredients in upmarket vineyard restaurant is also just over a kilometer away towards Constantia Nek. Constantia Nek has a vibrant atmosphere with La Parada Tapas Bar and the more sophisticated Harbour House. For the activity orientated there is Acrobranch an action packed aerial activity for all ages offering views of the Constantia Valley. At “the Nek” and just beyond are the newer boutique wine farms & a little further away is one of the country’s oldest wine farms Groot Constantia. This makes it very easy to go out & enjoy oneself a short Uber drive away. Hout Bay has its own vineyards, numerous day & night markets, well worth visiting, the World of Birds & of course the Beach, the Harbour a hub of activity & where numerous fishing charters leave from and the spectacular Chapmans Peak Drive.
A few minutes drive to the secluded sandy beaches of Llandudno, Sandy Bay and Long Beach. The exciting Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and the beautiful City of Cape Town with its many attractions and bustling night life, are a short drive away and in Hout Bay are superb restaurants to fit all budgets. Within 20 - 30 minutes drive from False Bay suburbs, Simonstown our naval base, Kalk Bay a quaint small fishing harbour, Boulders Beach with its Penguin colony & Cape Point, where the Indian & Atlantic Oceans meet.
