- Robberg Nature Reserve has three coastal trails with 3, 3.5 and 7.5km route options.
A popular destination, the Robberg trails are an excellent coastal hiking option. Our guided tours will discuss the geology, bird life, ecology, seal colony and marine life. While the 7.5km route is a popular choice, it can be difficult around the point and on the south western side of the trail. For less confident walkers, there is the equally enjoyable 3.5km loop to the 'Witsand' dune and then done to the Tomola. An added extra is a quick curcuit of the island and the gull colony.
- Carry sufficient water at all times - there are no water points along the route, and while the distances are short, dehydration is a common cause for rescue on the 7.5km route.
- Equipment : good walking shoes, a day pack with snacks and protective gear.
- Sunscreen and sunhat.
- Duration of tour : between 4 and 5 hours on the 7.5 route
