Sandpiper Cottages nestles within the Fransmanshoek Conservancy area. We provide local travelers and international tourists with an idyllic retreat as they escape to the peace and serenity of Boggomsbaai in the Western Cape. Just about halfway between Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay) in the Eastern Cape and Cape Town in the Western Cape, Boggomsbaai  is a rustic seaside village that is a celebration of the South Africa of yesteryear.

Being situated along the world-famous Garden Route, Sandpiper Cottages in Boggomsbaai is close to Mossel Bay, which is a popular tourist hub and home to a number of fabulous restaurants, malls and entertainment facilities, as well as cultural and historical hotspots.
The cottages are surrounded by the flora and fauna for which South Africa is so loved.  Aloes are in full bloom from May to July.

Local wildlife includes several small antelope species as well as the energetic Cape hare. Bird-lovers are advised to bring their binoculars.Birds that are commonly spotted here include the little bittern, African rail, African snipe, Kittlitz’s plover, three-banded plover, white-fronted plover, terrestrial brownbul, African crowned eagle, African goshawk, Chorister robin-chat, brown jackal bird, Knysna turaco and African wood owl.

Southern Right whales can be spotted breaching and lob tailing from around July to November of every year. Their displays are always impressive.  For the rest of the year, schools of dolphins can be seen frolicking in the local waters. The nearby beach is the breeding ground of choice for the African Black Oystercatcher, characterized by its pitch-black feathers and red beak.
Those that want to explore the surrounds on foot are invited to do the Oystercatcher Trailwhich is known around the world for its beautiful views and biodiversity.
