Nokanyana is situated on the eastern most extreme of the Okavango’s watery wilderness.This land of many rivers, as once described by David Livingstone, is today one of the most sought after destinations in Southern Africa and Africa.
Nokanyana, meaning “Little River”, is situated close to the Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park, only 120 kilometres from Maun. With seven luxury rooms and three family suites set on the banks of the Khwai River, Nokanyana offers fantastic game viewing, offering guests a wonderful spot to sit and watch wildlife coming down to drink. The rooms are light and spacious and all have a separate bathroom, with inside and outside showers.
The main area consists of a large dining room, with a separate lounge area. There is a large deck with a fire pit overlooking the river, and a boma that sits in front of camp by the waters edge.
It is located close to the southern parts of Chobe National Park, Khwai, Moremi Game Reserve and Savute, making it an ideal place to stay when driving through Botswana. Flight time from Maun to Khwai Airstrip is approximately 35 minutes; with a 45-minute drive into camp.
At Nokanyana, we welcome you to enjoy a range of activities. Take morning and afternoon game drives. The area is home to an abundance of wildlife such as elephant, red lechwe, giraffe, zebra as well as predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog. North of the end of the Khwai River is the Mababe depression, another incredible area to explore. A full day trip to travel further afield is an excellent way to explore the Moremi Game Reserve, Savute or Khwai. Lunch and drinks can be packed so that you can stay out as long as you wish.
There is nothing better than an African sunset enjoyed with a sundowner. Your guide will find a nice spot along the river where you can relax with a cooling drink and some delicious snacks.
There is the option to take a helicoptier flip to explore the Okavango Delta with an open door helicopter flight over some of the most pristine and unreachable areas.
