Flycatcher Castle, your fantasy home on a mountain. Informal, relaxed hospitality, luxurious suites with antique furniture, delicious four course dinners and English breakfasts are waiting for you!

The Castle is perched on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment, centrally situated in Mpumalanga. It is close to beautiful scenic wonders such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the world renowned Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels, the Pinnacle as well as spectacular waterfalls such as the Forest, Lisbon, Mac-Mac, Berlin and Lone Creek. The Kruger National Park is less than an hour’s drive away. Various adventure activities are available in the vicinity.

This exquisite Graskop accommodation consists of five individually decorated suites named after classical composers (Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Strauss and Gounod).  Bedroom furniture are antique while the en-suite vanities feature modern free standing baths, spacious walk-in showers and toilets. All suites have air conditioning. But then, there is also the Ruby Royal…. the place to enjoy unconventional fun!!!

Enjoy delicious dinners at the restaurant in Flycatcher Castle … a romantic, intimate dinner with candle light and personal service. Bring your own liquor … no corkage fee. A qualified chef or cook? … I don’t claim to know even a little something about food. However, guests at Flycatcher Castle tell me it is obvious that I enjoy what I’m doing. Maybe this is the secret: food prepared with love and gusto always tastes delicious … and being a sculpting artist and fascinated with detail and colour, I’m cheeky enough to claim that my food looks good! Beforehand, I usually ask you what you do not like and are allergic to and then I decide on a menu.
