At Gaikou Lodge, you're invited to enjoy world-class accommodation and service at a venue tucked in at the foot of a magnificent mountain kloof, set on 16 hectares of sheer beauty.
From the front entrance of Gaikou thre are views across lush green grass to the upper dam and the lower pond. Nature lovers will enjoy the indigenous plantings and the bird sightings, especially pairs of black eagles that soar over the mountain ridge and valley below.
As you pass from the eclectic reception area onto the Lodge's veranda with its reed ceiling and which in good weather serves as the breakfast room, you will be awe-struck by the splendid view of the mountains, the forested kloof and the artfully landscaped setting. You'll also be pleased to discover that each unit in the lodge has its own private veranda that encompasses the same magnificent view. In fact, the view is so splendid that you might abandon sight-seeing plans and spend your time soaking up the natural beauty around you and taking the occasional stroll on Gaikou's river trail or a longer walk in the adjoining Marloth Nature Reserve. If you feel so inclined, you can also explore Marloth on horseback.
The luxury suites are all open plan with high ceilings, allowing for ultimate comfort in an air-conditioned/heated environment. The beds are dressed in the finest linens, the oval baths spell supreme indulgence, and there are fine toiletries for the use of guests. Each suite has a flat-screen TV and internet access is available. The sophisticated toffee and cream furnishings create an ambience of calm, perfectly reflecting the natural surroundings. You can choose between a single unit that accommodates two people or a double that accommodates two couples or a family. In the double unit, each bedroom is of course en-suite.
