Rhone Homestead, our oldest manor house dating from 1795, has been newly decorated with many of our heirloom antiques.
It now hosts our traditional Cape buffet lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and by reservation on other days for groups of 20 or more.
Traditional Cape Buffet
All our dishes pay homage to our heritage as a traditional Boland farm with recipes passed down through generations of Boschendal cooks.
On arrival you are received with a welcome drink on the stoep and then you can wander towards the dining room where you can expect a feast of historic proportions.
You will find a selection of salads, hot and cold starters, sambals, roti and fresh soups with bread straight from our bakery. Our favorites are still represented like crispy roast potatoes, spicy bobotie with homemade chutneys, curried fish, baked lamb and roast beef raised on the farm.
On the ancient dresser in the voorkamer, a festival of desserts awaits the determined gourmand. Malva pudding with custard, meringues & cape gooseberry mousse, milk tart and koeksisters are some of the delicious sweets that we serve depending on the weather and our mood!
End your feast with brandy snaps bursting with whipped cream and quality coffee.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday Lunch: 12:00 to 14:30. Guests to be seated by 13:30
Reservations are highly recommended.
